I had originally intended for this page to be a recipe sharing page - but I just haven't managed to stay on top of maintaining it. Instead, I'm going to devote this page to sharing healthy resources that I use. This can be cookbooks, websites, equipment, or gear.
Disclosure: While I offer links to Amazon for several of the products, I have in no way been compensated by Amazon. I chose to share the links, because it's where I purchased most of the items. Several of the items can be purchased in places such as Wal-Mart, Borders, etc. Please shop around to find the best prices.
Cookbooks:
This is one of the most used cookbook in my house. The recipes are simple, delicious, and HEALTHY!! I'm a big fan of Taste of Home - and this book increases my love for them.
You can find this book at Border's, some Wal-Marts, and Amazon for about $10.
Here's a link on Amazon:

This is probably the most used cookbook in my home - just because of the vast variety that it has to offer. There are over 500 recipes in this book, all healthy, all (that I've tried) are delicious.
The thing that I LOVE about this book is the fact that it is broken up into the "normal" cookbook sections: desserts, breakfasts, beef, fish, chicken, etc. But there is also a section for holiday favorites AND restaurant favorites that you can make at home - saving the money and the calories!!
This book is about $15 in stores, but on Amazon it's $13.80. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Well-Lose-Weight-comb-Great-Tasting/dp/0470540311/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1296958073&sr=1-1
This book is great for anyone on a tight budget. All of the recipes in the book can be made for less than $7 - and that's NOT per person. The recipes are very basic with very basic ingredients - but they are all pretty low in calories.
The only setback to this book is the amount of shortcuts - meaning that a lot of the recipes call for processed ingredients. It's not a bad "go-to" book, however if you're tight on money, time, or have several mouths to feed.
Here's the link on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Meal-Healthy-Cookbook-Nutritious-Delicious/dp/1440503389/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1296958294&sr=1-1
This is the newest cookbook in my collection. It's full of popular homemade favorites - but offered in a healthier option. I love the fact that this book categorizes by calories. It's broken into breakfast, lunch, and dinner - but I'm enjoying cooking some of the lunch recipes for dinner. Everything I've tried, so far, has been delicious and simple to make.
The book also comes with a free one-year subscription to Taste of Home Healthy Magazine, online tools, a 6 week meal plan, and a diet resource guide.
I paid $12.00 for this book at Walmart.com, after seeing that it waw $17 in the actual stores. I just found it on Amazon for $7.18...here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/Taste-Home-Comfort-Food-Cookbook/dp/B003JTHRE6/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1296958765&sr=1-1
Websites:
The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans - A weight loss community website. This site offers support, advice, guidance, and tips to help you get in shape or stay in shape. The site also offers great challenges and opportunities to be involved with virtual races and work-outs.
Log Your Run - A website that works with the LogYourRun app for the iPod/ iPhone - or can be used alone. It's a community based site, but offers a lot of great features if you're not interested in the community aspect. You can create or use already created work-out/ training plans, track your exercise, blog, and see your progress and total miles/ time of exercise since using the program - plus so much more. You can also import a really cool gadget to your blog that shows others how you're doing with your exercising. Oh, and it's TOTALLY FREE!!
Running Mate Fitness - This is the site that I'm using for my Couch to 5K training. It's a site that's in developing stages - but it also offers the podcast and training tools free of charge. They currently offer a 5K training podcast series and a fastest 5K training podcast series - but 10K, 1/2 marathon, and full marathon trainings are supposedly coming soon.
My Fitness Pal - This an amazing website to log food and count calories. It's also available as an app on the iPhone. This site has the largest food database that I've ever seen - and makes it very simple to add foods. I also love that you can enter in exercise to get an idea how many calories you have to eat when exercising. The site offers a great community forum - that has questions just just about anything diet/ weight loss related.
Be sure to also look on the sidebar of my blog for my favorite weight loss blogs - written by people on their own weight loss journeys.
